**The Company**

Stockyard has gained international recognition for eating quality, consistency and food safety which has been achieved through strong vertical integration in the beef supply chain, with interests in cattle breeding and backgrounding, feedlot operations, processing and marketing.

Through strong alliances with exclusive importers, wholesalers and retailers, Stockyard beef is available in markets including North Asia, South East Asia, North America, Europe and the Middle East.

**The Position**
Reporting directly to the Managing Director and working closely as part of Stockyard’s Executive Leadership Team (ELT), the General Manager of Livestock Operations will have direct oversight of Stockyard livestock operations, including breeding, backgrounding, procurement of resources, and feedlot operations. In addition, the position will contribute to the development and achievement of Stockyard’s strategic goals, and lead and support a team of high performing individuals, as well as maintain key stakeholder relationships, project management outcomes, budgeting, and financial and data analytics.

- Proven leadership skills to ensure teamwork and growth in achieving strategic and operational objectives
- Background in Australian agriculture, ideally with a focus on beef supply chains including breeding, backgrounding and feedlot operations
- Strong business acumen with a focus on financial and analytical skills
- Proven experience working in a multi-faceted organisational context with an emphasis on quality delivery and results with a passion for building key relationships
- Ability to collaborate with the executive and leadership teams on a broad range of strategic and operational issues
- Advanced communication skills which encourage teamwork and collaboration
- Well-developed strategic thinking to plan and execute organisational vision
- Strong governance and reporting knowledge, inclusive of relevant standards, regulations and legislation
- Previous experience working for a family business would be highly regarded, however not essential
- Tertiary qualifications in Business or Agriculture/Science would be highly regarded, however not essential
