**Rail Network Modelling Intern - 12 Week Fixed Term**
- 12-week fulltime, paid Internship - Rail Network Modelling
- $40.92 per hour, commence December 2025
- 2x positions available to support rail service planning

**About the role**
As a Rail Network Modelling Intern, you’ll be involved in critical projects that will shape the future of V/Line's service planning and rail network operations. You’ll gain practical, hands-on experience with advanced rail modelling systems and contribute to the development of strategic service plans that improve the way we move people across Victoria.
**Key accountabilities include**
- Rail Network Planning: Contribute to the design and development of V/Line’s strategic service plans and future network configurations.
- Data Analytics: Collect, collate, and analyse operational data to inform planning outcomes.
- Modelling and Simulation: Support the validation and testing of RailSys models, ensuring data integrity and model accuracy.
- Collaborative Projects: Work with a multi-disciplinary team of experts, contributing to the development of innovative decision-support tools and operational simulations.
**About you**
V/line looking for 2x motivated students who are passionate about using data and technology to solve real-world problems.
- Currently studying or recently graduated in a Bachelor or Master's Degree in Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Planning or Engineering
- Hold Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency
- Able to commit to a 12 week paid internship, commencing Dec 2025
- Possess advanced Microsoft Excel skills with programming experience
