Kitchen Steward

Crowne Plaza Canberra is looking for Part-time Kitchen Stewards to join our team. As a kitchen steward, you will be responsible for the cleanliness and hygiene of all food and beverage outlets including the maintenance of all equipment and the carrying out of set food preparation duties when required.

**A little taste of your day to day**
- Operating dishwashing machinery to wash and sanitize crockery and kitchen implements
- Maintaining food storage areas like freezers and refrigerators, ensuring everything is organized and properly stored.
- Assist with receiving and storage of goods
- Facilitate the reporting of workplace hazards to the person (s) who can implement corrective actions.
- Assisting the chef and kitchen team in basic food preparation including cutting, peeling, and washing ingredients.
- Ensuring hygiene and safety standards are met.
- Use other safety, emergency equipment, plant materials tools and substances provided in the workplace as directed or as required in safety procedures.
- Working with kitchen team to provide excellent service to our guests.

**What we need from you**:

- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and collaborate effectively with kitchen team and other team members
- Exceptional attitude and ‘can do’ mindset
- Ability to follow instructions as and take initiative when required
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends and public holidays
- Must have working rights for Australia
