We are currently looking for a Accounts Payable to join our team on a permanent basis. No two days are the same in this role which is essential to the success of the project. We are looking for multi-skilled, flexible, hardworking people who are keen to grow their career within a leading Defence supplier. This role will see you develop process invoices and expenses as well as provide advice to our wider team on financial matters

This role is part-time, 3 days per week. The 3 days can be flexible however will need to consecutive (e.g. Mon-Wed). The position will also need to be done on-site in our Canberra CBD office
**What will I be doing day to day?**
- Checking and verifying invoices
- Entering invoices into the accounts payable system
- Filing and maintaining supplier records
- Answering queries from both subcontractors and employees
- Verifying and processing employee expense claims and managing the approval and payment process
- Updating and maintaining vendor database promptly
- Supporting month-end processing and reconciliation
- Identifying improvements to the accounts payable process
**What sort of skills do I need?**
- Solid understanding of basic accounting and accounts payable principles
- Accurate data entry skills
- Ability to build good relationships with vendors and employees
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- High level of accuracy and attention to details
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a broader team
- Intermediate computer software skills, including Excel and Accounting packages
- Adaptability and ability to acquire new skills efficiently
