About the role
In the role of Principal Advisor, you will lead the resolution of titling and tenure matters as they relate to state-owned rail corridors. You will be the point of contact for all external and internal stakeholders drawing upon a strong knowledge of relevant tenure legislation and titling processes.
The role will include but is not limited to;
- Manage processes for all new and existing railway managers to obtain and maintain appropriate tenure over state owned rail corridor land.
- Resolve inconsistencies in rail corridor tenure impacting the perpetual lease and various railway manager subleases.
- Be the point of contact for all titling transactions in so far as they relate to the perpetual transport lease including the following tasks:
- Review and analyse tenure proposals.
- Conduct relevant Current State Tenure Searches and/or Current Title Searches.
- Create and complete any required Titles Registry forms, SLAM forms and Office of State Revenue forms.
- Lodge and monitor documents in the Titles Registry and with State Land Asset Management.
- Provide advice, direction and recommendations on complex rail corridor titling and tenure matters to senior staff and key stakeholders and actively facilitate any desired tenure outcomes ensuring compliance with relevant Acts, manuals and policies.
- Provide input into process and legislation reviews and amendments as they relate to leasehold land transactions.
