MinRes Energy is a vertically integrated Energy Division within Mineral Resources Ltd which provides power and energy solutions to our Mining Services division, it’s clients and to our Min Sites. We are looking towards renewable energy solutions and displacement of diesel power generation by a larger uptake renewables, supported by of our own gas resources using pipelines and trucked LNG.
**About the role**
MinRes Energy is seeking a **Principal Environment** to drive a high standard of management and approvals for MinRes Energy, as well as to secure and maintain all necessary environmental approvals across our upstream, midstream, and downstream operations, including support for Development Projects. This role will report directly to the Land Access and Approvals Manager.
**Your key responsibilities will include**:
- Develop and maintain a Strategy and Schedule for Environmental Approvals linking with other key stakeholders within the Land Access & Approvals team and Project Managers.
- Oversee the implementation of MinRes Energy’s activities and monitor compliance with all environmental regulatory commitments.
- Regular liaison with the applicable Regulatory departments to ensure timely and transparent assessment of all environmental approvals.
- Manage the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process including developing scopes of work, reviewing proposals, managing consultants, and ensuring a high QA/QC standard of deliverables.
- Interpret legislation, government standards and agreements and provide timely advice and improvement opportunities including areas of risk to the MinRes Energy business.
- Manage Regulatory Compliance against Environmental Approvals.
**Necessary skills and qualifications**:
- Tertiary Qualification in Environmental Science or related discipline.
- High degree of experience with the preparation, submission and management of relevant environmental approvals and their supporting EIA processes.
- Competent in the development, execution and management of EIA specific supporting studies and reporting by specialist consultants.
- Competent with Microsoft Office software suite, ArcGIS Pro and Microsoft Project; and
- Highly developed written and verbal communication and engagement skills.
- 10+ years’ environmental management experience with a strong focus on relevant legislation and project management.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams, managing contractors, consultants, clients, and Regulators.
