About the School
Kelvin Grove State College is part of a unique educational precinct. It is only three kilometres from Brisbane City's central business district. Kelvin Grove State College is a P-12 school with three sub-schools: Junior, Middle and Senior.
About the Role
As the Guidance Officer you will have responsibility for the following:

- Collaboratively work across the College in developing, articulating and committing to a shared educational vision focussed on wellbeing and providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Monitoring and responding to the needs of identified students requiring social-emotional support. This includes case-managing individual students who may also require AARA provisions in Year 6-12.
- Developing, actioning and documenting intervention strategies for complex and identified students at-risk in Year 6-12.
- Developing and implementing support strategies and services to engage chronic absentee students and school refusers that reflect best practice and align with departmental policies and procedures.
- Designing and implementing a support program which is tailored to the Middle School Queensland Ballet Academy students.
- Providing advocacy and support to independent students' in response to their welfare and academic needs.
- Nurturing positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders across Year 6 to 12.

Guidance Officers are required to participate in regular clinical and technical supervision with a Senior Guidance Officer or their nominee, to ensure the provision of ongoing professional support and development. As part of our Student Wellbeing Team, you will be accountable to and under the direction of the College Executive Principal and the Year 9/10 Deputy Principal.
