**ABOUT THE ROLE**

This is a new opportunity to put your skills as a Quality Laboratory Technician to use within our SOS Lab, based in Clayton. You will have advanced knowledge of instrument operation, trouble shooting, maintenance, quality assurance and laboratory chemical safety and contamination control.

**Key responsibilities of this role include**:

- Manage the Chemical Hygiene and Safety process for the laboratory
- Perform complex analysis such as ICP, Titrations, IC and diesel fuel tests
- Validate test results and manage the result uploads and review for interpretation
- Assist with the implementation of new / improved systems and instruments
- Identify process improvements and work towards solutions and implementation of change
- Prepare chemical solutions according to standard formula’s
- Check instrument calibrations/quality control tests
- Ensure chemical hygiene and safety compliance
- Manage quality assurance

**To be considered for this role, you will have the following skills, experience and attributes**:

- Minimum 5 years laboratory technician experience
- Degree in Sciences or equivalent
- Knowledge of complex testing/ analysis such as ICP, Titrations, IC and diesel fuel tests.
- Ability to look for improvements in process and procedure
- Proactive toward contamination control and safety
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve practical problems
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills
- Good Research skills and ability
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interpret and understand test methods
