
Technology Support Specialist

**About the role**
The key objectives of the role include:
- Deployment of software and hardware devices to staff and services as required
- Use remote tools and diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting.
- Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level when remote tools are not appropriate, including hardware repairs, delivery of peripherals, or other fixes as determined
- Ensure cyber-attack counter measures are up to date, service and desktop patches, end point protection
- Analyse trends to prevent reoccurring issues and alert management to process improvement
- Contribute to strategy and planning of improvements to IT support operations and processes
- Assist in the acquisition and development of software, hardware and releases and rollouts according to change management best practices
- Operational management including ticket support, escalations, preventative maintenance and incident tracking
- Provide systems administration for core business systems
- Research solutions through internal and external knowledgebase as needed
**About you**
As a Technology Support Specialist, you will have the following skills and experience:
- Diploma, Certificate or university degree in a field of computer science
- Proven experience in IT Support roles with significant focus on driving business outcomes and process driven improvements
- Knowledge of advanced computer hardware, including desktop, laptop, switches, routers
- Experience with desktop and server operating systems, including Windows 10, Win Server OS, Virtualisation technologies.
- Working knowledge of a range of diagnostic utilities
- Experience working in an ITIL-driven environment and working knowledge of ITIL principles and processes
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including fluency in English
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including experience working with internal and external stakeholders
- Flexibility to participate and be involved in on-call roster, and take up the late shift from time to time (10am-6pm)
- Willingness to travel to multiple LS locations to service the business
