About VMIA
Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA) is the Victorian Government's insurer and risk adviser, covering the people and projects that help Victorians thrive. We're an agency in the Department of Treasury and Finance portfolio established under the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority Act, and report to the Assistant Treasurer.
We provide insurance and risk advice to government departments and agencies, with more than 4,600 clients ranging from small community service organisations to public hospitals, schools, and core service providers. We also provide domestic building insurance to builders, giving Victorian homeowners peace of mind for building projects valued over $16,000.
We help our clients prepare for, prevent, or reduce the impact of harm. When things don't go to plan, we help clients restore services and recover quickly.

To achieve this, we have a remarkable opportunity for an experienced People Services Coordinator to be part of a progressive and innovative team in a period of growth.
Reporting to the Manager, People Services, this newly created role is key in coordinating the successful delivery of a strong and positive end to end employee lifecycle experience. You provide responsive advice and administrative services, connecting our people to our practices.
Who you work with
You work collegiately with your colleagues in the People & Culture team and provide professional and effective service to our people across the organisation. This ensures a strong positive employee experience is maintained across the employment lifecycle.
About you
- Deliver a positive, timely and seamless employee experience for new talent joining our VMIA team. This includes preparing appointment paperwork, coordinating onboarding, induction and supporting corporate learning experiences.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of our policy and procedures and provide timely, accurate and consistent advice.
- You coordinate and deliver our corporate calendar of employee benefits designed to enhance the engagement and wellbeing of our people.
- You manage the employee transition process and programs.
- You manage all system administration including management of subsidy & L&D requests.
- You manage the ergonomic assessment process.
- You manage People & Culture related accounts and other administrative tasks in support of the team.
- You provide administrative support across the People & Culture team with a range of program delivery and initiatives.

What we are looking for
- You have experience working within human resource teams in a similar role.
- You are able to balance the timely completion of tasks while still delivering a positive and effective people experience.
- You have intermediate systems skills including the MS Office suite and experience working across HRIS systems with the ability to pick up the navigation and administration of new systems quickly.
- You are an exceptional team player with a drive for results and attention to detail.
- Relevant qualification/s in human resources or a related field at Diploma level or above, or equivalent experience.
