Nikpol Pty. Ltd. is a National Australian owned company that leads the way in decorative and storage solutions for both domestic and commercial interiors in the area of decorative timber surfaces, specialised hardware, domestic home appliances, drawer systems and hinges.

Nikpol are looking for Production Assistants In VIC, NSW, QLD. You will be required to work with timber products, such as benchtops and laminates. Training will be provided. This is not an Engineering role.

Reporting to the Production Manager your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Operate machinery (Edge Bender; Baz CNC Router; Beam Saw; Bargstedt) and use hand tools (Circular Saw; Chisels; Drills; Screw Drivers etc.) in accordance with all OH&S regulations.
- Produce quality products that meet the specifications of the customer’s order.
- Inform Production Manager of any repairs or maintenance issues related to the machinery.
- Agree the workload with the Production Manager and team members.
- Implement Quality Control measures to reduce waste and remake.
- Ensure the job matches the specifications as outlined on the Sales Order.
- Effectively package products to reduce damage.
- Ensure all details are checked off prior to dispatch.
- Check Benchfab order against the Job order.
- Update the daily Production Report.
- Maintain a clean work area to reduce the possibility of damage to the product.
- Use all lifting equipment and follow any Manual Handling procedures.
- Liaise with Production Manager to provide data to produce a Daily Production Report.
- Provide assistance to the Warehouse on an as needs basis: Forklift Driver; Truck Driver and Picking/Packing.
- Follow all company safety and accident procedures while on company premises or operating company vehicles or equipment.
- Wear personal protective equipment (steel cap boots, safety glasses, ear plugs, Hi-Vis vest).
- Contribute to the reduction of packaging materials utilized in Warehouse.
- Contribute to the achievement of Nikpol DIFOT goals.
- Participate in all required training activities.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

- Good knowledge of wood working machinery.
- Minimum three years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with decorative timber products.
- Experience in packaging and dispatching
- Manual handling knowledge.
- Previous experience or working knowledge of Lean manufacturing would be a distinct advantage.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Word.
- FORKLIFT LICENSE is a must
- Ability to read basic technical drawings
- Experience working with computers an advantage
- Experience in packaging and dispatching
- A flexible approach to work and willingness to multi-skill and rotate through various tasks
- Strong teamwork skills
- Excellent work ethic, punctuality and attendance
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong safety record
- Excellent spoken & written English

**Salary**: Annual Salary ranges from $70,000 to $75,000 plus superannuation and is determined based on experience.
