**The Role**:
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Insurance Builders team in the position of Cadet Purchasing Officer/ Administrator. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the main focus of this role will be ensure that trades, materials and supplier costs are competitive, while also managing the end to end on-boarding process of suppliers.

**Key Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Obtain quotations for sub-contractor works
- Liaise with supervisors, estimators, suppliers, subcontractors and senior management
- Tender projects
- Process quotations and recommendations
- Update and maintain subcontractor trade base
- Manage induction of new sub-contractors and suppliers
- Make recommendations for capital and overhead expenditure
- Authorise project expenditure up to the budgeted allowance
- Develop KPI measures to meet organisational requirements in key areas
- Ensure all quotations conform to legislative and contractual OH&S requirements
- Ensure all certificates for work cover and public liability insurance are current
- Attend project sites on an adhoc basis
- Undertake general administrative tasks
- Assist in preparing and coordinating monthly cost reporting meetings for supervisor projects
- Access, view and update sensitive information which may relate to customers, employees and/or company intellectual property

**Key Selection Criteria**
- Sound understanding of the Construction industry
- Bachelor or Diploma in Building and Construction, highly advantageous
- Previous Purchasing experience ideal, however not essential
- Ability to build effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Results driven with excellent attention to detail
- Superior customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
- Ability to be empathetic to the needs of the client
- Proactive and motivated personality
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint
