**THE ROLE**
The Investigations and Governance Manager is primarily responsible for managing the quality of HSE investigations across Compass Group Australia and performing Governance activities across HSEQ programs.
**Main responsibilities**:
**Investigation Quality**
- Design and implement investigation modules for HSEQ and Operations, including evidence and statement collection
- Coach teams to improve the accuracy, consistency, and depth of HSEQ investigations
- Establish best-practice investigation methods for all incidents, including food safety incidents
- Guide teams in identifying effective corrective actions using the hierarchy of control
- Drive continuous improvement of investigation and incident management procedures
**Significant Investigation**
- Lead investigations into high-potential or significant incidents, using ICAM or comparable methodologies
- Produce clear, detailed reports for internal stakeholders and clients
- Develop and deliver training on psychosocial incident investigation techniques
**Governance**
- Design and implement HSEQ governance policies, frameworks, and best practices
- Review HSEQ outputs to ensure compliance with Compass Group Australia standards
- Conduct weekly reviews of injury and illness data to ensure accurate classification
- Provide training and support to leadership and staff on their governance responsibilities
**Crisis Management and Business Continuity**
- Develop and maintain robust crisis, emergency management, and business continuity plans
- Facilitate risk identification, scenario planning, and impact assessments
- Lead post-crisis reviews and integrate lessons learned to enhance future response strategies
**Other Responsibilities**
- Follow Compass health, safety and security procedures_
**THE PERSON**
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in incident investigation
- Strong knowledge of governance frameworks and quality assurance practices
- Excellent interviewing and communication skills
- Strong organisational and task management capabilities
- Demonstrated ethical conduct aligned with professional standards and corporate values
- Proven experience in crisis management and business continuity planning
- Desirable_
- Working knowledge of OSHA or injury classification systems
- Experience in delivering training or holding relevant training qualifications
