Ventures Program Lead

**The opportunity**

Bupa is a leading global corporation that is committed to innovation and growth to provide our customers with an optimal healthcare journey. We are launching a new Corporate Venture Fund to invest in early-stage startups that align with our strategic objectives.

**This is a permanent full-time position, based in the Melbourne or Sydney office. (Bupa offers hybrid working arrangements allowing you to work from the office or home)**

**How will I help?**

**You will add value by**:

- Establishing and leading the new fund office, including setting up content and admin management systems and processes, managing the budget and developing policies and procedures for the fund.
- Coordinating and leading the Fund committees to identify, evaluate, and make investment decisions on early-stage startups that align with our strategic objectives.
- Building and maintaining relationships with early-stage startups and other stakeholders in the venture capital community.
- Liaising with startups to arrange interviews, documents and due diligence.
- Coordinating due diligence on potential investments, including financial, market research, and technology assessments.
- Assisting in the preparation of investment memorandums, presentations, reports and other materials for the Corporate Venture Fund committees and the executive leadership team.
- Supporting the monitoring of performance of portfolio companies and coordinate and manage regular updates to the committees and the executive leadership team.
- Working collaboratively with other departments and business units to leverage our resources and capabilities to support the growth of our portfolio companies.
- Helping organise and attend events and conferences to stay current on emerging technologies and trends in the venture capital industry.

**What do I need?**
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Innovation, or a related field.
- Possess a minimum of 6 years of work experience, with at least 3 years in a start-up/incubator environment.
- Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering strong relationships with start-ups and stakeholders.
- Demonstrate strong financial literacy, including proficiency in investment memorandums and financial models, while also showcasing organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Passion for innovation, entrepreneurship, and emerging technologies
- Strong problem solving skills
