**About your Team**

Based at MILVEHCOE (Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence) at Redbank, you will lead a mulit-displinary team who are dispersed across Brisbane and Melbourne locations. This role will primarily be based in Redbank, however we offer a flexible work arrangement to be shared across Milvehcoe, home and our newly created project office in Fortitude Valley.

**About the Role**

Due to an internal promotion, we are now seeking to find a Specialty Engineering Manager to lead a team of specialists in the domains of Human Factors Engineering, System Safety, Product Security, Electro Magnetic Interference, and Environmental Compliance. Working with the respective discipline leads, this role is responsible for planning and executing all Specialty Engineering work to support and assure design compliance of RDA’s products.

**,** you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:

- Provide leadership and management to the RDA Specialty Engineering teams and functions;
- Define, establish, develop and grow the Specialty engineering capability (including processes) to allow the support of Design Engineering work required to deliver as per RDA’s contractual requirements covering the fields of: System Safety, Environmental Compliance, EMC/EMI Engineering, Human Factors Engineering (HFE) and Product (Cyber) Security;
- Monitor and guide the Specialty Engineering activities to ensure compliance to contractual and corporate governance requirements;
- Integrate and align Specialty Engineering with Systems Engineering ; assure design compliance a through guiding the design effort and by participation of the specialty disciplines at key points in the technical decision making process;;
- Provide advice and regular consultation to relevant stakeholders on all Specialty Engineering matters as they affect the program delivery and associated budgets and forecasts;
- Regularly liaise with customers, suppliers and relevant Rheinmetall Defence entities, e.g. their Specialty Engineering Managers;
- Ensure compliance and best practice wrt Australian certified engineering practices and the Dept. of Defence’s approved standards; and
- Delegate, manage and approve subcontractor work packages as required to deliver Specialty Engineering effort.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:

- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical);
- Proficiency in at least one of the following disciplines: System Safety, Cyber Security, EMC/EMI Engineering, Human Factors Engineering and Environmental Compliance;
- Substantial experience within a similar position, ideally within the defence sector;
- Excellent written and oral communication and organisation skills;
- Demonstrated leadership of diverse/inclusive teams;
- Experience in interpreting complex engineering function and performance specifications, and a capacity to identify existing technical solutions to meet these specifications;
- Must currently hold or eligible to gain the appropriate Australian Security Clearance; and
- Ability to travel interstate and internationally when required.
