**Description**

Neighbourhood Care provides people with, **support and care **from small, self-managing teams, consisting of community nurses, allied health therapists and support workers. We are looking for a **Trainee Support Worker** who sees his / her work as a profession and strives to provide the best care and support.

As a Support Worker at Neighbourhood Care, you will be focused on supporting people to live their best lives by finding ways that are meaningful to them. In addition, you will be given the opportunity to obtain your Certificate III in Individual Support.

In collaboration with the those who receive services, their families and their wider network of supports, you together with your Neighbourhood Care team will work collaboratively and innovatively to support and assist achieving the person’s needs and goals whilst ensuring adequate safeguarding to improve their lifestyle. The day-to-day tasks of a Trainee Support Worker will vary depending on the individual needs of the person being supported. A typical shift may involve assisting someone get ready for the day (including personal care and administering medications), do some housework, go out with friends or to work, communicating with others and always getting to know them better as a person.

**Mandatory Criteria**
- Australian driver’s licence
- Working with Children Card (Blue Card) with Yellow Card exemption (if working in Qld)
- National Police Clearance (less than three months old)
- Full Australian working rights
- First Aid certificate (including CPR)
