An exciting and unique opportunity exists for a talented and passionate individual to join the Strategic Communications, Engagement and Protocol (SCEP) division as Communications Adviser to contribute to progressing the Victorian Government's nation leading work with First Peoples.
The responsibilities of the SCEP division include providing specialist communication and protocol advice and support to DPC and the Premier's Private Office.
The First Peoples' State Relations (FPSR) Group within DPC is responsible for nation leading work in the areas of cultural rights, self-determination, Treaty, and truth - an extensive program of priority work with First Peoples.
As the Communications Adviser, you will provide specialist administrative and communications support for the operation of the SCEP division and First Peoples' State Relations (FPSR) group priorities. As part of the role you will draft reports and recommendations, prepare external communications, performance reports and manage inquiries, particularly related to building awareness and understanding of Treaty-Truth-Voice in Victoria.
**About you**
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders in community or government setting and an understanding of Aboriginal Victorians' cultures, experience and knowledges and the ability to engage effectively with First Peoples and communities
- Highly developed initiative and the ability to clearly and confidently communicate with people at all levels of the organisation
- Highly developed interpersonal skills
- Sound verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and good time management skills
