**Role Overview**:
This is an exciting opportunity to join UnitingSA’s Housing team as our Tenancy Officer. Reporting directly to the Manager UnitingSA Housing, the Tenancy Officer is responsible for the effective tenancy management of the whole tenancy process from waiting list management to end of tenancies for those tenants with low complex needs.
This role is initially offered on a fixed term basis with the opportunity for a further contract term/turn permanent with UnitingSA Housing. The successful applicant will directly provide a high level of holistic case management to all their respective tenants as well as displaying a great deal of autonomy in their role.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide clear, accurate and consistent tenancy information to all tenants, families and housing registrants.
- Maintain a sound knowledge of other housing options available to people who are homeless or in housing stress.
- Source suitable tenants for vacant properties in a timely manner.
- Action leases, bonds, tenant charges, inspections, breach of tenancy notices, neighbour complaints, tenancy tribunal hearings, and the end of tenancy process.
- Liaise effectively with stakeholders, e.g. support services, the Public Trustee, Centrelink and Mental Health Services.
- Liaise with Manager UnitingSA Housing, Administration & Finance Coordinator and colleagues to develop policies, pro-forma documentation and systems, in an environment of continual improvement striving for service excellence.
- Develop strong working relationships with tenants and stakeholders.
- Promote UnitingSA Housing positively internally and externally.
- Maintain Single Housing Register.
- Update tenant files, leases, bonds, inspections and databases.
**Skills & Experience**:
- Previous experience within tenancy /property management (Desirable).
- Demonstrated experience working within Community Services (Desirable).
- Knowledge of current Residential Tenancy legislation (Desirable).
- Sound knowledge of other housing options available to people who are homeless or in housing stress.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
- High level communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to deal effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and complexity.
- Property Management qualifications (Highly desirable)
