As Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and counsel to the Australian business, across a broad range of topics for high value projects and tenders within the renewable energy and infrastructure industry.

This will include identifying any legal issues of concern, whilst proactively developing effective legal strategies, mitigation and practical solutions, ensuring full compliance with group directives as well as local statutory provisions.

**Key responsibilities**
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide array of legal documents, including supply and general commercial agreements, including procurement, supply and property documents and non-disclosure agreements;
- Overseeing the negotiation and finalisation of legal documentation;
- Monitoring key laws and emerging legislation affecting the business;
- Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with your stakeholders throughout the business;
- Managing the provision of legal services by external legal counsel (where required);
- Assisting the company with its compliance with applicable laws and regulations;
- Contributes to the review of Request for Quotations and input to Pre-Qualification Questionnaire, tender preparation, risks identification, negotiations of contracts, framework agreements, partnerships, settlements, etc; all in coordination with key internal stakeholders;
- Promotes dispute avoidance and manages disputes and litigations liaising, where necessary, with external law firms;
- Manage and liaise with, external service providers, including external legal counsel;
- Provide legal training and awareness, including training on contract negotiation and integrity, for employees in the business; and
- Actively contributes to the development and improvement of processes impacting the legal team.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- 5+ years PQE relating to major construction/ engineering projects with a successful track record of handling complex corporate and commercial transactions;
- A pragmatic, commercially minded, individual with a consultative style
- An ability to balance and prioritisation work and manage expectations of multiple stakeholders
- A highly collaborative team player who also displays the ability to take ownership of work
- Strong drafting and contract negotiation skills
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to influence at all levels;
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
