**About the Role**
As an Investigator - Safeguarding & Assurance, you’ll play a vital role in upholding the rights, safety, and wellbeing of our clients, residents, and supported employees. This is a role where your analytical skills, integrity, and compassion come together to create meaningful change.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Investigations with impact - Lead objective investigations into NDIS reportable incidents and other serious matters, ensuring compliance with legislation and Sunnyfield’s policies.
- Root cause analysis - Identify risks, uncover systemic issues, and recommend practical improvements that strengthen safeguards.
- Education & empowerment - Deliver training to staff and run information sessions for clients, building awareness and confidence around safety and wellbeing.
- Collaboration for change - Work closely with colleagues across Safeguarding, Disability Services, and Employment Services to drive quality improvements and better outcomes for the people we support.

**What You’ll Bring**
- Investigative expertise - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct fair, objective, and thorough investigations.
- Safeguarding knowledge - A sound understanding of safeguarding principles, risk management, compliance, and the frameworks that underpin safe service delivery.
- Communication skills - The confidence to engage with staff, clients, and stakeholders at all levels, building trust and clarity in sensitive situations.
- Proactive mindset - A forward-thinking approach, always seeking opportunities to strengthen systems, prevent harm, and improve outcomes.
**Your Experience**
- Minimum 3 years’ experience conducting complex investigations (e.g. reportable conduct, reportable incidents, criminal, child protection, or workplace).
- Experience working with, or investigating matters relating to, vulnerable cohorts including people with disability and children.
- Knowledge of the reportable incident and reportable conduct schemes, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.
**We welcome applicants from a variety of professional pathways, including**:
- Ex-police investigators ideally with additional non-policing experience post-service.
- Regulatory investigators with experience in reportable conduct or reportable incidents.
- Child protection caseworkers with JCPRP experience.
