**Mental Health Clinician - CAMHS**

**About the role**:
The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) Consultant Liaison Team is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled individual to join our team based at John Hunter Hospital.

This role involves providing mental health assessments and support to both the John Hunter Emergency Department and the John Hunter Paediatric Wards. If you take pride in your work and contribute with optimism, we want to hear from you

Conduct mental health assessments and provide support to children, young people, families/carers, and adults after hours.

Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care including assessment, clinical formulation, brief intervention, and linkage to appropriate mental health and medical services.

Utilise your clinical skills, professional knowledge, and judgement to offer excellent care, advice, and educational support to ED and ward staff, patients, and families.

Collaborate with the On-Call Consultant Psychiatrist and allocated ED Medical Officer.

**Shifts**:
Monday to Friday - Shifts: 8am-4:30pm, 10am-6:30pm, and 2pm-10:30pm

The suitable clinician will:

- Have experience in providing high-quality mental health assessments and interventions.
- Be capable of working autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Be committed to working with children, young people, and their families/carers, as well as adults.
- Possess high-level communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build

**Requirements**:

- Must hold a qualification in one of the following: Occupational Therapy, Clin Psychology/clin psych in training, Nursing, Social Work and Counsellor (Degree in Bachelor of Health Science Mental health, Djirruwang Program) which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association general registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. For a CNS2: relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years experience working in the clinical area of a post-graduate qualification.
