**About the role**:
The successful applicant will cover both the John Hunter Hospital Emergency Department and Paediatric medical wards as well as young people experiencing an eating disorder on and off program. Whilst working collaboratively with the JHH ED, paediatric and medical multidisciplinary teams, the experienced Mental Health Clinician will act as a clinical expert, professional role model and utilise their knowledge and advanced clinical skills in the assessment, care planning and provision of safe clinical care for patients with needs related to Child & Adolescent and Adult Mental Health. As well acting as a resource person, co-ordinating and providing high quality care with a predominant focus on mental health assessment, planning and management of patients who present to the Emergency Department with mental health related issues after hours. This position is a Monday to Friday position with the following shifts 8am-4:30pm,10am-6:30pm and 2pm-10:30pm.

The role will be supported by a cohesive multidisciplinary team, Clinical Leader and Nurse Manager. You will also receive clinical supervision, a comprehensive orientation to the role and training opportunities to support your professional development.

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) Consultant Liaison Team provides mental health assessments and support to both the John Hunter Emergency Department and the John Hunter Paediatric wards.

**Requirements**:

- Must hold a qualification: Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Nursing, Social Work, Counsellor (Degree in Bachelor of Health Science Mental health, Djirruwang Program) which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association / provisional or general registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
- Eligible to drive in NSW.
