Gold Coast, Australia Shred-X Full time

SHRED-X is seeking a results-driven and commercially minded State Manager to lead our Queensland operations.

In this critical role, you’ll take full ownership of people, processes, service delivery, and the commercial performance of your business unit.

You’ll also play a strategic role in aligning operational capacity with new customer opportunities - making this a dynamic blend of leadership and business development.

We’re on a transformational journey, and we’re looking for a calm, logical, and resilient leader to help shape what’s next.

**About Us**

SHRED-X is Australia’s leading provider of secure destruction and circular economy solutions, trusted by thousands of organisations to dispose of paper, electronics, têxtiles, and products safely and sustainably. As part of the Freightways Group, we combine the strength of a large enterprise with the agility and purpose of a mission-driven organisation.

**Your Role - A True Leadership Opportunity**

Reporting to the General Manager - Operations, you’ll be responsible for the performance and strategic direction of our QLD operations. With full P&L accountability, you’ll lead a team of branch managers and ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and customer-focused services across our regional sites.

**Key responsibilities include**:
Leading a culture of safety-first thinking and operational integrity, with a strong focus on engineering controls
- Managing and mentoring branch and regional managers, not just frontline staff
- Driving service quality, route and fleet efficiency, and production output
- Leading and influencing organisational change initiatives
- Partnering with commercial teams to align customer acquisition with operational capability
- Overseeing budget performance, cost control, and sustainable margin delivery

**Who We’re Looking For**

We want a strategic thinker and practical operator with a strong foundation in logistics, transport, or supply chain. You thrive on solving complex problems, influencing outcomes, and improving systems.

**You’ll bring**:
Proven leadership in high-risk environments - with a deep understanding of safety systems and the ability to champion a strong safety culture
- A background in logistics, courier transport, waste, or fast freight
- Experience leading other leaders - confident coaching and mentoring branch or department heads
- Demonstrated P&L and budget management experience with a commercial mindset
- Calm, logical decision-making under pressure, with integrity, confidence, and resilience
- Experience navigating and delivering organisational change

**Bonus points for**:

- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Logistics or Operations Management
- Strong systems knowledge (e.g. CRM, route optimisation, ERP)
- Advanced Excel and data interpretation skills

**What’s in It for You?**
- Full ownership of a key region in a national organisation
- Competitive salary + car allowance + performance bonus
- Join a high-impact change journey with real leadership opportunity
- Ongoing learning, development & career progression
- Recognition programs + birthday leave + company apparel
- Confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

If you're ready to take the next step in your leadership career and make a measurable impact in a forward-thinking, values-driven organisation, we’d love to hear from you.

**Please Note**:
Shortlisted applicants will be required to complete:

- Federal Police Check
- Pre-employment Medical
- Work Rights Verification

We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer - diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives are valued here.
