**The Opportunity**

We are now recruiting for the position of an experienced Technical Pilot to join the P8 Flight Operations Team in Boeing Defence Australia (BDA). This position will support the P-8A Poseidon Through Life Support Program based at RAAF Edinburgh, SA.

**Responsibilities**
- Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding all aspects of flight operations of the P-8A Poseidon, actively engaging with aircrew and maintenance personnel.
- Maintain P-8A Pilot currency and conduct live flying duties in support of Air Force requirements, whilst embedded within HQSRG AISR.
- Liaise and co-ordinate with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), Suppliers, RAAF Aircrew, Engineers and other stakeholders within the P-8A Sustainment Program to enable safe and efficient operations and capability improvement.
- Contribute to fleet development projects and support implementation of platform configuration changes
- Provide advice, technical input and approvals in-conjunction with other BDA Flight Operations Technical team streams including:Co-ordinate and ensure compliance with Defence Aviation Safety Regulations (DASR) and airworthiness regulations Review of Service Bulletins (SB), Airworthiness Directives (AD) and changes to Minimum Equipment List (MEL)

- Weight and Balance
- Electronic Flight Bag (EFB)
- Aircrew Publications
- Develop & Review Flight Manual suite updates, implement changes to operational policies and procedures and review changes in conjunction with RAAF flight training stakeholders
- Provide flight safety support to the Wing Aviation Safety Officer (ASO), P-8A Poseidon System Safety team (e.g. risk assessments)
- Provide input and advice in support of maintenance test flight activities
- Any other responsibilities as directed by the Flight Operations Technical Lead.

**Experience/Qualifications**

**Essential Criteria**
- Military Pilot Qualification - with significant operational experience, and/or Civilian Air Transport Pilots Licence Qualification - with significant aviation industry experience.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with co-workers, maintaining productive working relationships to meet team, business unit and organisational goals
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety procedures
- Be able to obtain and maintain a defence security clearance

**Desirable Criteria**
- Operational Experience as a CATEGORY C Captain (or higher) on either a P-8A Poseidon, E-7A Wedgetail, or similar
- Experience in a safety management role
- Experience working in a contractor environment (directly with customer)
- Related tertiary qualification or relevant aviation industry experience
- Operational Test and Evaluation training
- Aviation related operational test and evaluation experience
- Simulator Evaluation Qualification and experience
- Experience conducting maintenance test flights

**Physical Requirements**:
Boeing Defence Australia specific site positions will have physical requirements which are applicable. Physical requirements are outlined by the recruitment manager in consultation with the Environment Health & Safety Department. A formal assessment of the physical requirements will need to be completed through the Environment Health & Safety Department for specific roles which would then reflect into the position description.
