Reporting to the General Manager, JLT Public Sector, the **Divisional Manager - Risk **is a leadership position, responsible for managing scheme risk services with local and state government clients, as well the management and mentoring of the Risk Management Team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and maintain relationships with C-suite stakeholders and play a strategic role in the direction of the business.

**We will count on you to**:

- Manage the provision of effective risk management advice and assistance, both oral and written to Scheme Members on liability and professional indemnity risk issues
- Develop systems to assist members manage specific risk management issues
- Take responsibility for the strategic plan of the Risk Management Department
- Manage the Risk Management Service delivery of general and specific nature for Scheme Members, prepare reports detailing recommendations and work with risk consultants in the implementation of recommendations
- Manage and contribute to the preparation and dissemination of information to Scheme Members and in relation to newsletters and circulars etc.
- Target the training needs of Members and assist with seminars and workshops and present such training
- Identify, develop and implement projects associated with risk management issues and/or legislative developments and proposals
- Establish, develop and maintain effective communication with JLT Staff, Local Government and Scheme Members
- Manage communication and marketing of risk management as a culture via decision makers within council including CEOs, Directors and Audit & Risk Committees
- Participate in on-going communication with Scheme Manager, Claims, Legal and Risk teams
- Undertake other management activities as required
- Attend and participate at forums, seminars and conferences as required
- Contribute as a member of the Public Sector Management Team

**What you need to have**:

- Knowledge of risk management philosophies and practices
- A tertiary qualification in Risk Management or a related discipline is preferred
- High level communication skills, both verbal and written
- Working knowledge of relevant AS/NZS and ISO standards
- Basic knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety legislative requirements
- Understanding of law as it relates to civil liabilities etc.
- Ability to co-ordinate and participate in seminars and workshops for members, training skills and the ability to effectively manage meetings and groups

**What makes you stand out?**
- Experience leading a small to mid-size team
- Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment is desirable
- Knowledge of liability and insurance
- Knowledge of the Local Government Act and other relevant Acts
