**About the role**

WesTrac is seeking an experienced and motivated Technical Officer to join our Engineering Support Team. Based from our Tomago Head Office, our Technical Officer supports the creation of technical documentation for Caterpillar Machinery and provides valuable machine knowledge to our team.

Reporting to the Engineering Support Lead, this role is responsible for liaising with Customer Account Managers to determine correct build specifications for customer specific machines.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Liaise with tradespeople and workshop team members to determine machine build specifications
- Assist with the design of modifications to ensure they are compliant to relevant standards, including safety and risk assessments.
- Create technical and quality documentation for new machine builds and repairs
- Ensure the engineering workflow management tasks are assigned and tracked to ensure timely completion of customer solutions
- Maintenance and storage of Engineering records in accordance with WesTrac quality systems

**Skills & Experience**
- Advanced communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal)
- Ability to build relationships at all levels
- Experience with Computer Aided Design Programs and/or tertiary qualifications in mechanical or electrical disciplines will be highly regarded
- Experience with Caterpillar (or equivalent) equipment
- Excellent attention to detail, ability to analyse problems and provide appropriate solutions
