Position Summary & Responsibilities:

- To enhance the Scientific capacity of the Department To assist the department’s goal to establish a centre of excellence in
- stem cell and cell therapy research
- To assist the upskilling of laboratory scientific, nursing and medical staff in haematopoietic stem cell and immune cell therapies
- To contribute and assist the Director of R&D in managing the Clinical Stem Cell and R&D facilities of the Department including
- in the St Vincent’s Centre for Applied Medical Research (AMR) and Kinghorn Cancer Centre (KCC)
- The goal is to achieve the Centre of Excellence status and improve the Department’s prospect to gain further resources for
- translational research in the Department.

**Selection Criteria**:

- **Possess Fellowships of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (FRCPA) or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialist’s State Award in Specialist Haematology, specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);**:

- ** Possess PhD from a recognised Australian University or equivalent; with experience in molecular and cell biology especially gene editing and drug development methodologies, experience in flow cytometry, in-vitro haematopoietic cell cultures and in-vivo models required;**:

- ** Possess a track record in scientific publications and presentations, as well as grant and HREC submissions and their potential utilities in clinical and diagnostic haematology services;**:

- ** Demonstrated knowledge, experience, skills and high standards in dealing with research projects and their quality management systems.**:

- ** Possess management ability in high quality and cost effective research and development service planning and commitment to the implementation of best practice and clinical service innovation;**:

- ** Demonstrated and commit to ongoing contribution to teaching and education of students, medical and other hospital staff; as well as the development, dissemination, and translation of new knowledge and practices commensurate with work in an academic teaching hospital environment;**:
