As part of our investment in our future, we launched our Melbourne Engineering Precinct as the main maintenance hub of our network and have now welcomed over ten new A321 NEO’s into our fleet. Our Engineering Operations team supports not only the maintenance of Jetstar aircraft, but also that of Qantas Group A320, and A321 Freighter aircraft and Jetstar Branded Airlines (JBA’s) in Singapore and Japan.

Takeoff with your next opportunity

As Manager, Contracts and Vendor Performance, your primary function will be to lead a team of Procurement Managers (sourcing, negotiating, establishing contracts), Commodity Managers (managing in-service contracts and vendor relationships), and the Warranty and Insurance team to support Jetstar Australia and Group Engineering vendor supply and support requirements.

Reporting to our Senior Manager Supply Chain & Commercial, you will primarily be responsible for:

- Ensuring vendor products and services are supplied to Jetstar at best cost efficiency and lowest risk, contract value is maximised and will ensure procurement and management strategies are aligned with Qantas/Jetstar Group requirements
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives across the team, ensuring personnel, processes and systems remain highly efficient and effective
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with key MRO’s and OEM’s senior commercial personnel for engineering products and services
- Overseeing commercial support provision to Jetstar Engineering customers including our teams located in Singapore, Japan and Sydney.
- Overseeing compliance to Jetstar and Qantas Group contract standards and procurement processes
- Leading complex vendor campaigns and negotiations for the Qantas Group
- Developing warranties, insurance, commercial recovery strategy and targets, ensuring maximised recoveries year on year
- Monitor engineering spend (contracted and uncontracted) across all commodities, ensuring opportunities for cost reduction are identified and appropriately actioned
- Ongoing development of team members to maximise individual potential

Ready for your next adventure? We are seeking the following experience:

- Proven experience in aviation, preferably within engineering and maintenance
- Strong corporate experience in contractual documentation development, relating to provision of high value engineering goods and services
- Proven experience in successfully leading commercial negotiations for high value goods and services
- Expertise in asset procurement
- Tertiary qualifications, preferably with an emphasis on either business, finance or engineering related discipline
- MCIPS accreditation will be highly regarded
