The Specialist, Domestic ADIs (authorised deposit-taking institution) is a member of the Regulatory Supervision section within the Regulatory Operations branch of AUSTRAC. The role reports to the Manager of Regulatory Supervision.

The Regulatory Supervision section undertakes critical work for AUSTRAC in monitoring and supervising its regulated entity population of over 15,000 entities. The Specialist, Domestic ADIs will drive operational work in support the Regulatory Operations Branch to monitor, supervise and assess the AML/CTF compliance of broad range of reporting entities including banking, gambling, remittance and digital currency exchanges. This role will also be involved in continuous improvement of procedures and processes to assist in building efficiencies in the branch.

The Specialist, Domestic ADIs under limited direction, is responsible for:

- evaluating the behaviour of AUSTRAC’s 16,000 regulated entities by:

- developing regulatory activities to test compliance
- supporting thematic reviews and projects
- reviewing and analysing documents to investigate potentially serious non-compliance with the _Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 _(AML/CTF Act).
- creating assessment plans, assessment reports and other related documentation
- working with other parts of the agency to develop strategies for responding to serious compliance issues, and leading or assisting with the execution of those strategies
- investigating potentially serious non-compliance with the _Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 _(AML/CTF Act).
- Developing initiatives that influence positive behaviour and support regulated entities to meet their obligations under the AML/CTF Act;
- contributing to the development of solutions to AUSTRAC’s regulatory challenges, including strengthening our regulatory capability;
- develop and maintain an understanding of the AML/CTF Act and associated rules, and AUSTRAC processes, guidelines and regulations;
- engaging with internal and external stakeholders, such as AUSTRAC management, regulated entities, partner agencies and other government agencies;
- contributing to the management of Regulatory Operations staff including responsibility for staff performance and development, where relevant;
- supporting Branch leadership with the improvement of systems and procedures that enhance the efficiency and transparency of operational activity;
- provide expertise and technical support to the team;
- contribute to executive briefings, staff messages, speeches and correspondence.

**Eligibility**

The successful applicant will be required to undergo a security assessment, maintain an ongoing security clearance and satisfy AUSTRAC’s pre-engagement checks.
