We're seeking a highly motivated Teacher Mentor who is focused on developing and supporting their people to make the difference to children and families every day. Goodstart’s Pedagogy and Practice Team and State based teams are key contributors that enable our organisation to achieve its goals and objectives for high quality early learning and the Teacher Mentor is a key member of this team.
Your Impact;
Provide mentoring support to new teachers to develop high quality teaching strategies and classroom management skills.
Maintain currency knowledge of ERS, NQF, NQS, EYLF/VEYLDF and Australian Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) practice.
Ensure State Practice Improvement Team interventions comply with all legislation that applies to children - Child Protection, National Regulations and Workplace Health and safety.
Recognise and respond to safety issues proactively and support centres to comply with all legislation that applies to children - Child Protection, National Regulations and Workplace Health and safety.
Provide a supportive role in promoting high quality and continuous improvement in early childhood education and care across the organisation
Lead, mentor and coach to challenge and encourage professional growth, skills development, commitment and continuous improvement.
Carry out centre visits across the network to build relationships, understand teachers in context, advocate/support teachers when issues arise.
Support inclusive practices in centre’s educational program and practice.
Promote quality and continuous improvement in early childhood education and care within the organisation.
You’ll bring to the table;
Minimum 4-year Early Childhood qualification from a recognised university.
Extensive and recent practice-based early childhood teacher education experience (aged birth to 8 years).
Sound knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework, other State based approved/recognised learning guidelines and the National Quality Standard.
Teacher registration/ accreditation at proficient level (NSW, SA, VIC, WA, QLD)
Working knowledge of, or the ability to acquire, the relevant State or Territory legislation and National Quality Framework.
Experience of supporting a team and being a team member.
Sound understanding of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
