About You

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Kindergarten Teacher who is ready to step into a mentoring role. In this position, you will act as a mentor, guide, and role model — supporting and extending the skills and knowledge of the team leader and educators in the playroom each day. You will also work closely with the Nominated Supervisor / Educational Leader across our 0–5-year-old groups, helping to strengthen practice and build a high-quality learning environment for all children.

You bring a proven ability to plan and deliver engaging play-based programs aligned with the VEYLDF, NQF, and Child Safe Standards. You are dedicated to creating inspiring, layered play spaces that encourage curiosity, learning, and joy for children aged 3–5.

You will bring:

  • Current VIT registration and ACECQA-approved qualifications
  • Experience working with 3–5-year-old children
  • Skills in delivering inquiry- and play-based learning experiences
  • A strength-based approach to behaviour guidance
  • Proficiency in digital documentation and computer skills
  • In-depth knowledge of the VEYLDF, NQF, Education & Care Regulations, and Child Safe Standards
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills
  • A hands-on, energetic, and nurturing approach to teaching and mentoring

About the Role

As a Kindergarten Teacher in a mentoring capacity, you will play a key role in supporting and guiding our educators, who deliver a high-quality play-based programs. You will work closely with the Nominated Supervisor and Educational Leader, who does this role, contributing to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of engaging learning experiences across our 0–5-year-old groups.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Mentoring and supporting educators and team leaders in the playroom
  • Supporting the planning and implementation of stimulating, inquiry- and play-based learning experiences
  • Guiding creating layered play spaces that foster curiosity, creativity, and skill development
  • Supporting observations, documenting, and reflection of children's learning to inform program planning
  • Supporting and contributing to the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) to maintain and enhance the service's educational program and practices
  • Conducting compliance checks to ensure adherence to regulatory and service standards
  • Modelling best practice in behaviour guidance, pedagogy, and child engagement
  • Maintaining compliance with the VEYLDF, NQF, Education & Care Regulations, and Child Safe Standards
  • Collaborating with the Approved Provider / Nominated Supervisor / colleagues to support team leaders/ educators in providing a safe, nurturing, educational play-based learning / inclusive environment for all children, to grow to their fullest learning potential
