The Principal Solicitor will support the within the Legal, Privacy and Integrity Branch. The role will provide accurate, timely and practical legal advice and take the lead on a variety of legal matters from hospitals & health services, primary & community health, mental health, public health, alcohol & drugs, and ageing & aged care portfolios and projects including strategic priorities for the department.
This role requires a strong construction & property law background with commercial/contract law and IT law experience being advantageous. Government law experience would also be very beneficial. This role will involve a wide variety of work including the provision of timely advice and preparation of high-quality written contracts and briefs on the relevant areas of law, corporate policy, property law and contractual issues. The role may also be required to manage general litigation and oversee the drafting of legislation and regulations. It will also be required to prepare Ministerial correspondence, Cabinet submissions and other written reports and briefings to clients.
