Dog Handler and Trainer

The Dog's Group Pty Ltd, trading as Dogs in Town, is a successful, enterprising canine business with the reputation of being a leader in providing dog day-care, training, grooming and retail services from our location in Mitchell Road, Alexandria. Due to increased activities in our business, a vacancy for a full-time position has occurred in our organisation with the following details: Position: Dogs Handler and Trainer Employer: Dogs in Town Location: Alexandria NSW 2015 Annual Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 Period: Full-time Hours of Work: 38 hours per week **Job Description**: - Supervising and evaluating groups of dogs and managing their behaviours to maintain overall wellbeing and safety - Providing canine enrichment through play and scheduled activities - Teaching dogs to obey basic commands using various training techniques that are best suited to each dog’s personality and attributes. - Training dogs with behaviour modification and rehabilitation - Hosting of classes, workshops and seminars by teaching clients the appropriate training methods to enforce and maintain behaviours and skills learned by their dogs during training sessions. - Offering feedback to owners - Frequent cleaning and upkeep of facility and upholding OH&S standards according to company standards. - Building and maintaining rapport with dog owners through daily feedback and transparency - Creating and distributing media content for dog owners through videos and photos of dog behaviours, preparing documents for dog owners - Maintain detailed customer files including health records, previous services, behaviour and training level. - Exercising and playing with animals, answering customer questions and transferring animals between enclosures by leading or carrying them. - Assisting with other kennel duties **Requirements**: will be asked to present background checks. **Salary**: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year Work Authorisation: - Australia (preferred) Ability to Commute: - Alexandria, NSW 2015 (preferred) Ability to Relocate: - Alexandria, NSW 2015: Relocate before starting work (preferred) Work Location: In person
