**About this role**
Our **Child & Family Wellbeing Service** provides **early intervention** support to children and young people who are showing early signs of or are at risk of developing a mental illness. The service aims to improve the wellbeing of children and families enabling them to better participate in their communities and reach their full potential.
As our **Case Manager**, you will work with children, young people and their families to identify and develop supports to address risk factors that may be impacting on their lives. Working from a **child-centred approach**, you will help children and young people recognise and manage strong feelings and emotions to help them build their resilience to overcome life’s difficulties. You will offer workshops, groups and community awareness sessions that promote social and emotional wellbeing in children and young people. You will promote a culture where each family’s point of view and preferences for their wellbeing are recognised, respected and understood. You will be part of a monthly intake roster.

**Skills and Experience**
- **Degree qualified in social work, human services, psychology or similar.**:
- At least 12 months experience in the Community Services Sector in Early Intervention, Child Protection or Mental Health.
- Experience of undertaking comprehensive assessments with families and risk assessment/ safety planning.
- A child centred and strengths based approach to working with children and families in a mental health context.
- A clear understanding of child protection issues and mandatory reporting responsibilities.
- High level written and verbal communication - it’s important to document our work.
- Understanding of the needs of diverse communities such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD), and LGBTIQA+ communities.
- Current drivers license.
