**About the role**
Our Intensive Family Support Program strengthens families so children can live at home safely, free from abuse and neglect, and enjoy the best possible start to life. We deliver voluntary services to families at high risk of entering or escalating within the statutory child protection system.
As our Case Manager, you will engage and support at risk families to make different choices for their children. You will enable families to overcome risks by using evidence informed practices, partnering with other services and supporting the family to shape their next chapter.
**Duties**
- Use your practice framework as well as Structured Decision Making tools in your everyday practice
- Undertake an initial assessment of a family’s strengths and needs
- Develop case plans that build on the family’s resilience to enable them to overcome risks and increase the family’s functioning.
- Work closely with statutory child protection services and other statutory and community services to help support families to shape their next chapter and further strengthen their family

**Skills and Experience**
As well as having recognition from Community as a culturally safe person and practitioner, you will have:
- 3+ years’ experience working with ATSI children and families within safety and/or well-being context with 1+ year case management experience
- Formal qualifications in social work, early childhood, psychology is desirable
- Excellent understanding of child protection issues & client vulnerabilities, and the impact of trauma and the effect on child behaviour and development
- Understanding of the needs of diverse communities such as ATSI, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD), and LGBTI communities.
