**What You Will Be Doing**

The Instrument Technician Grade 3 is an integral member of the CSSD team responsible for a range of duties including:

- maintenance of a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. As a member of the C.S.S.D. team all staff are expected to become multi-skilled and capable of working in all areas of the department or unit.
- Being accountable for the provision of all aspects in the sterilising process, in line with AS/NZ 4187, guidelines and policies of Peninsula Health
- Promoting the maintenance of a safe environment, in accordance with legislative requirements and Peninsula Health Policies. This includes the Policies relating to Occupation Health and Safety, Infection Prevention and Control and Equal Opportunity.
- Completion of relevant CSSD competencies with the timelines specified.

The Grade 3 Instrument Technician may perform their role without the direct supervision but under the immediate direction of the Grade 4, 5 or 6 instrument technician.

**What You Need**
- Holds a Certificate III in Health - Sterilising Practice for Technicians or equivalent, awarded by a registered training organisation that has been approved by the AIC. The incumbents are not advanced practitioners and the work undertaken at a Grade 3 should be seen in this context.
- Commitment to achieving best practice.
- Willingness to maintain and advance knowledge and skills relevant to that position.
- Commitment to customer service.
- Ability to maintain confidentially and use discretion in all aspects of the role.
