**What You Will Be Doing**

The Instrument Technician Grade 3 is an integral member of the CSSD team responsible for a range of duties that contribute to the maintenance of a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. As a member of the C.S.S.D. team all staff are expected to become multi-skilled and capable of working in all areas of the department or unit.
The Grade 3 Instrument Technician may perform their role without the direct supervision but under the immediate direction of the Grade 5, 6 or 7 instrument technician.
The Instrument Technician Grade 3 is accountable for the provision of all aspects in the sterilising process, in line with AS/NZ 4187, guidelines and policies of Peninsula Health.
Promote the maintenance of a safe environment, in accordance with legislative requirements and Peninsula Health Policies. This includes the Policies relating to Occupation Health and Safety, Infection Prevention and Control and Equal Opportunity.
Completion of relevant CSSD competencies with the timelines specified

**What You Need**

Holds a Certificate III in Health - Sterilising Practice for Technicians or equivalent, awarded by a registered training organisation that has been approved by the AIC. The incumbents are not advanced practitioners and the work undertaken at a Grade 3 should be seen in this context.
Commitment to achieving best practice.
Willingness to maintain and advance knowledge and skills relevant to that position.
Commitment to customer service.
Ability to maintain confidentially and use discretion in all aspects of the role.
Has more than twelve months experience as an Instrument Technician


This role must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19 and meet the requirements of the Peninsula Health immunisation policy.
