About the RoleThe Antenatal Clinic at Logan Hospital is part of the Outpatients Department and provides care to families from the surrounding areas which include a large number of communities from a highly culturally diverse background.
The Assistant in Nursing (AIN) works under the supervision and direction of the Registered Midwife however retains accountability for personal actions in fulfilling their role. The AIN role in Antenatal Clinic (ANC) is heavily admin-based but does include some chaperoning and mínimal nursing tasks as well as cleaning and restocking of all consulting rooms. There is also an expectation that the person in the role will be flexible to the needs of the service.
- Responsible for accepting delegated tasks/duties which require basic skills, training and experience. Gather information about patient care needs by observing the patient and reporting to the RM to assist the RM to assess, plan and evaluate care. - Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and secure environment of the staff and patients. - Demonstrate a strong commitment to teamwork and unit goals.
