**About the role**

Working under the supervision of the Registered Nurse within the Operating Theatres, you will work as part of an established proactive team supporting Registered and Enrolled Nurses in the provision of safe, quality patient care.

The Mater nursing team provides the highest level of specialist care to patients, their families, carers and visitors. Our team of industry professionals work together as a cohesive and collaborative unit, going above and beyond to provide an exceptional level of care and deliver the highest level of clinical standards for the patient and the unit.

**Salary range: $29.94 - $33.11 (Assistant in Nursing) per hour plus superannuation & casual loading**

**What you’ll be doing**

You will support the nursing team to continue in the provision of expert care to patients who are seeking excellent standards of nursing care at all times. Your enthusiasm and skills will see you seamlessly integrate into this outstanding team, assisting with the setup of instruments, consumables and prostheses for surgical procedures. Additionally, you will be required to work in CSSD as directed.

**About you**

The successful applicant will possess:

- Certificate III in Health Services Assistance or working toward completion
- Certificate III in Sterilisation Services (desirable)
- Knowledge of Infection Control procedures and processes
- Previous experience working as an AIN in a Theatre environment however not mandatory
- Excellent communication, problem solving and negotiation skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other health professionals, patients and relatives/carers
- Skills to assist with the management of stock
