**About the role**
Reporting to the Manager - People & Culture, this role will help shape our inclusive, safe and diverse work environment and ensure our employee experience is one where employees love where they work. Develop and deliver plans and programs which will provide an exceptional people experience that drives greater engagement, diversity, inclusion, retention and attraction. You’ll also work closely with the greater Leadership Team to design and deliver new and creative solutions to continue to build the culture for our Shire that supports the delivery of the current and future organisation and community needs.
This position is critical in not only the delivery of key projects, but also ensuring existing and new programs and initiatives are successfully imbedded into the organisation to enhance organisational culture, employee engagement and workforce productivity.
Core responsibilities include:
- Identifying practical and innovative solutions to further strengthen our engagement and retention practices
- Develop the Shire’s employee value proposition and our internal and external branding work and strategies to attract and retain great people
- Lead and manage the delivery of change efforts, including building team capability to support and embed change
- Work closely to understand the current staff climate and environment, identify capability requirements - short and long term - and identify opportunities for cross collaboration to leverage organisational cultural programs and strategies
- Design and deliver organisation-wide solutions and initiatives to support improvements in organisational culture, performance, attraction and retention, diversity and inclusion and employee experience
- Lead the Shire’s diverse and inclusive workplace program and plan
- Manage employee engagement and employee lifecycle surveys including design, implementation, reports, feedback and action planning
- Review and re-design key people programs, policies, communications and tools to ensure alignment with desired culture and positive employee experience.
**About you**
- Tertiary qualifications in human resources, organisational development /psychology; or related field with relevant experience in change management
- Proven experience in successfully designing and implementing contemporary culture and employee experience programs
- Demonstrated experience in leading a high performing team
- Demonstrated experience in successfully leading key projects and change management across a whole organisation
- Experience in local government or other complex organisations is desirable
- Highly developed computer skills for well designed and effective reports, metrics and communications
- Current Drivers licence Police and Working with Children Check.
