**Role Description/Criteria**

**General Duties**
- Proactively monitor and support student wellbeing
- Exercise pastoral care and Behaviour Support in a manner which reflects school values
- Implement strategies which promote a healthy and positive learning environment
- Complete other duties as directed by the Principal or Learning Diversity/Wellbeing Leader
- Maintain each student’s privacy and confidentiality. All staff members are expected to maintain a commitment to Child Safety in keeping with our Child Safety Policy and the Code of Conduct

**Wellbeing and student engagement**
- Willingness to work with the Sustainability and Wellbeing leaders to support student engagement
- Works with the Wellbeing Team to support students social and emotional growth and student engagement
- Willingness to learn about indigenous history and work with staff to consider how this knowledge can enhance the school environment
- Willingness to contribute to the school’s outdoor education program, relevant excursions and school camps

**Garden**
- Responsibility for the upkeep of the gardens and grounds as well as general maintenance tasks undertaken as part of the team (e.g. planting, mowing, cultivating, pruning, shaping, trimming, watering, spraying, etc.)
- Identifying, reporting and working with the OHS leader and/or Principal any maintenance concerns relating to the gardens and grounds
- Maintains tools and/or equipment for the purpose of ensuring the availability of equipment in safe operating condition
- Regularly interacting with a range of external or internal clients to provide advice or specialist information.
- Initiate a garden program that instills care for our school grounds and the local environment

**Essential Skills, Knowledge And Experience / Selection Criteria**
- The successful applicant must be supportive of the Catholic Ethos.
- A love of gardening and student wellbeing
- A wide range of practical skills including a demonstrated ability to carry out gardening and relevant grounds maintenance tasks
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with staff teams and other stakeholders
- Ability to work with limited supervision in a collaborative way in a small team environment
- Patience and a great sense of humour
- A willingness to join in the life of the school community

**Special Requirements**
- Applicants must have a current Working With Children Check.
- Equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or training.
