**HIGH demand** for skilled Disability Support Workers to work with our
**NDIS** Participants in the
** Northern Gold Coast.**

HCA is highly regarded within the industry and we are a leading supplier of staffing services to Hospitals, aged care and community organisations throughout Australia, so the opportunities for our workforce is extensive.

**About the role**:
As a skilled, experienced support worker you will be an expert in supporting someone with spinal cord injuries, challenging behaviours and mental health.

You will know how to attend to all their personal care needs, including bladder and bowel care management. (Training is provided in these areas)

You would be a veteran with Manual Handling transferring them in and out of their bed and to his wheelchair, as well as transporting them to their appointments and social activities with ease.

Full availability is always desirable. Having dedicated Support staff is important to people with a complex disability. Mixture of day shifts (AM/PM), Sleepovers, Awake duties and weekends are available

Basic wound care and self-medication are part of this position as is meal preparation and some general household duties..

To be considered for this role you will need:

- **Fully vaccinated against Covid-19(Including boosters)**:

- **Minimum 6 months (FTE) Relevant experience**:

- Experience working in Residential Settings is highly regarded
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate - (or willing to obtain)
- Current NDIS Workers Screening (or Acceptable check)
- (or willing to obtain)
- Current Working with children clearance - (or willing to obtain)
- Smart phone (HCA uses an APP for managing your work)
- Unrestricted Australian drivers license*
- Comprehensively Insured vehicle that can be used to transport participants for community access is Highly regarded
- It is common for NDIS participants to require transporting due to challenges accessing public transport options, therefore, staff may be required to utilise their own vehicle or, if available, a company vehicle, to carry out community access. For these reasons applicants will need to hold a suitable AU Drivers licence.
