The Investment Performance Team

Within Ortec Finance, the Investment Performance team focusses on the implementation and support of our performance evaluation software. This high-quality, self-developed product enables investment organizations across the globe, such as pension funds and asset managers, to carry out their own return and risk analysis. With recent success since opening the Australia & New Zealand office in Melbourne at the start of 2020, we are looking to hire a highly motivated and enthusiastic graduate with excellent interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic and a solution-motivated approach with a proven track record of consistently achieving results.

What will you do as Junior Consultant?

As a Junior Consultant within our Investment Performance team, you will:

- Work in a small team of dedicated professionals
- Learn to measure and evaluate performance and how to link performance to decisions
- Discuss and translate our clients’ needs to analyses in our software
- Provide support to our clients
- Provide advice and training to our clients
- Develop interfaces to allow our system to calculate the analyses
- Take care of customization by developing new functionalities, when necessary
- Contribute to product demonstrations

You will regularly alternate your work from our offices with client visits.

Who are you?

A recent graduate or investment professional with less than 2 years of working experience with a degree in a scientific discipline (Econometrics, Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or similar majors are preferred but all majors will be considered). You enjoy being in contact with clients and you have a strong interest in the world of finance or FinTech.

In addition, you also:

- Are an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident
- Possess excellent interpersonal, client-facing and communication skills
- Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills: you are able to think one step ahead
- Have strong working knowledge of Excel
- Have experience with and a willingness to program
- Fluency in English is a must (Both written and spoken)

Previous work experience (1-2 years) in a similar role is preferred but not essential. Any previous knowledge or experience working with databases/SQL is also considered a major advantage.
