**About the Role**:
Make a positive impact As a Specialist Teacher you will be working collaboratively to support children with additional needs and their families to enable the children to meet their goals by providing a quality service that is underpinned by family-centred principles.
Koorana Child & Family Services is looking for a Specialist Teacher to join our team to deliver evidence based early intervention services for children who are aged under 7. You will be working in a variety of settings including clinic, community-based (in home, early education settings and schools) and tele-health. We work from a best practice enhanced key worker model and have a specific focus on supporting children and young people with additional needs, and their families.
In this role you will be required to collaboratively plan, implement and evaluate your interventions that are designed to support the child and build the capacity of families to enable the child to reach their goals as identified in NDIS plans or via other goal setting processes.
**About You**:
You are degree qualified in Early Childhood Education with qualifications and/or experience in special education. Your experience will include the delivery of evidence-based early childhood intervention practices and processes and working with children with additional learning needs in natural learning environments. A solid theoretical understanding of child development and of disabilities and knowledge of the principles of family-centred practice, great communication and interpersonal skills together with the ability to work in CALD environment will contribute to your success in this role.
You will hold a current driver’s licence and have access to a comprehensively insured motor vehicle and be willing to travel to our client’s around South Western Sydney, Sutherland Shire & St George areas.

In this role, you will be mentored and led by a designated Team Leader and Senior Practitioners, working within our transdisciplinary team.
You will be responsible for providing occupational therapy and support services to families who have a child with additional needs enrolled in one of Koorana’s services. Some of the key responsibilities of this role are:
- Collaboratively planning, implementing and evaluating the allied health program.
- Participating in transdisciplinary practice and consulting with other relevant agencies.
- Referring to other professionals or agencies as appropriate.
- Maintaining a clinical caseload.
- Providing clinical support to occupational therapists and other allied health practitioners across Koorana.
