Our Mental Health Support Workers help our participants to accomplish their NDIS goals by linking them with mainstream or community services and by improving their motivation, strengths, resilience, and decision making.

Through companionship and promoting ongoing social and community participation, we support individuals on the NDIS with psychosocial disabilities to increase their capacity and to help them live a fulfilled and self-sufficient life.

**About the opportunity**

Our participant in Manly requires weekly support on the following schedule:
**Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:00am - 1:00pm.**

Our participants have various support needs and depending on their requirements, your role as a Mental Health Support Worker may involve
- Assisting them to access and stay engaged within their chosen community including assistance with researching and planning activities of interest
- Assisting them to achieve plan goals as per their NDIS funded supports
- Maintaining relationships and enabling capacity building
- Assistance with meal planning, grocery shopping and transportation

**Key selection criteria**

To be successful in this role, you will need:

- Availability for a minimum of 2-3 days per week
- Minimum probationary driver’s license and fully comprehensive car insurance
- Evidence of COVID booster vaccination or valid medical exemption

A Certificate IV in Mental Health or a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology/related field will be highly regarded and as well as lived or professional experience in the mental health field.

You will also be able to demonstrate:

- The ability to manage an individual case load and perform tasks autonomously
- The ability to write clear and concise comprehensive case notes
- Commitment to providing exceptional support and excellent communication skills

You must also have/be willing to obtain for the following:

- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children's Check
- First Aid and CPR Certificate
- NDIS Orientation Certificate
