Your Opportunity
**The Business Manager is responsible for**:
- leading a large and dynamic academic portfolio, providing high level leadership and delivering professional and innovative training solutions across a broad range of vocational training areas;
- maintaining high level strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support effective and efficient delivery of training and assessment services; and
- establishing and maintaining key industry partnerships to effectively promote training products and services and position TAFE Queensland SkillsTech as the lead provider of trade and technical training.
This position reports to the Executive Director, Educational Delivery or the Director, Educational Support Services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage various educational delivery teams and participate as a key member of the TAFE Queensland SkillsTech leadership group to ensure the achievement of the TAFE Queensland Strategic Plan and key objectives under SkillsTech's Operational Plan.
- Foster a team culture that values excellence in financial performance, customer and student experience, continuous business improvement and innovation in the delivery of high quality teaching and learning outcomes.
- Lead in change management, risk identification and business improvement processes within the organisation to ensure the services of TAFE Queensland SkillsTech are compliant with Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) standards, Pre-qualified supplier (PQS) and other statutory and legislative requirements.
- Manage the effective deployment of staff and resources within agreed budget parameters to accommodate operational needs of SkillsTech and any emerging priorities to ensure efficiency in service delivery and achievement of training revenue targets for SkillsTech.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of educational planning and delivery team operations through audits, reviews, stakeholder feedback and the analysis of performance data, promptly implementing solutions for critical problem areas which negatively impact safety, compliance, financial performance and the delivery of high quality training and assessment services.
- Provide strategic advice and information to the Senior Executive Team which includes operational performance data, market intelligence, industry changes and growth opportunities.
- Proactively engage with industry, business and the community to undertake and lead specific projects that respond to current training demands and emergent opportunities for TAFE Queensland SkillsTech.
- Manage the local implementation of Master Product and ensure educator representation in the Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and other associated TAFE Queensland networks, forums and committees.
- Provide supportive leadership and the facilitation of regular local Performance Planning and Development (PPD) processes and reviews within the team, seeking out opportunities for the development of staff leading to increased levels of organisational capability and staff engagement.
