As a result of our continued growth and over $1 billion of work-in-hand, Georgiou have opportunities for an experienced Design Manager to join our building team. This role will oversee specific projects from conceptual design to tender,
design & documentation phase, through to project completion. The role will ensure all processes are efficiently executed and in line with client requirements and expectations, while constantly identifying areas where advantages can be gained for Georgiou from a cost, time or quality perspective.

**What you're good at**:

- Demonstrated experience as a Design Manager in the commercial construction industry
- Australian based D&C project experience encompassing complex commercial and residential apartments from conceptual design to construction
- 10 years current experience working in a similar role
- An excellent team player
- Demonstrated success managing and ensuring project delivery in line with client requirements and expectations.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to drive project design outcomes
- Relevant Engineering or Architectural Degree
- Valid Construction Safety Awareness Card
- Valid Worksite Traffic Management Certificate
- NABERS or Greenstar training and accreditation (Desirable)

**Required Skills and Experience**:

- Provide input and advice to Georgiou Developments during project feasibility phase and for land acquisitions, on potential approval/design/construction issues and most efficient from of construction
- Liaise between Georgiou Development and Georgiou Group regarding reporting, cost and programme updates and potential issues of concern for internal Georgiou Developments projects.
- Define and manage the development of the Clients’ design brief, if required, and/ or prepare reverse design briefs as necessary
- Actively participate in the engagement of the consultant design team including defining deliverables, scopes of services, commercial terms, negotiation of fees and timelines
- Lead and manage the consultant design team throughout the project life cycle and maintain consultant fees within project budget
- Manage the development and review of drawings, plans and other engineering data
- Lead the design coordination for each discipline
- Manage the design to ensure the cost plan or project feasibility is not exceeded (including liaison with the estimating team to progressively check costs as the design develops, and reporting back to the Client or Project Manager)
- Proactively communicate with the Client/Developer to ensure the design is in accordance with expectations and the design brief and to facilitate design presentations at agreed milestones
- Develop, implement and manage a Design Management Plan (DMP) for each D&C tender and project
- Contribute to project risk and opportunity assessment
- Lead Early Contractor Involvement projects or Bid Lead as required
- Identify and evaluate suppliers, contractors/subcontractors and consultants in order to meet all requirements
