**The role**

**This is a targeted role under GSE Rule 26 and people with disability (as defined in Disability Discrimination Act 1992) are encouraged to apply.**

**Development assessment is exciting, challenging and fulfilling.** We are looking for planning assessment professionals who can deliver high quality, efficient and timely assessment advice to ensure State significant projects meet all statutory obligations, Government policy requirements, and Government goals. You will complete assessments within the benchmark timeframes in a manner to provide greater certainty for applicants and the community whilst not sacrificing the quality of these assessments.

In this interesting and dynamic role, you will be working on a wide range of planning matters. You will be analysing issues to recommend innovative options and solutions. The key to success in this role will be your ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of customer service and managing the interests of our various stakeholders and the community.

**What you will bring to the role**
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with team members and prepare well written reports and other documentation. You will have the ability to translate complex technical information into easy-to-understand material.
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant environmental assessment and planning legislation and processes

**What is an essential requirement**:

- Tertiary degree qualification or other equivalent qualification
- Ability to travel and Class C Driver’s Licence for regional positions
