**PURPOSE **The purposes of this role are: This position involves working with
individual students from Prep to Year 6, singly or in small groups both
within and outside class to support their learning. The Learning Support
Assistant will demonstrate exemplary communication and record
keeping skills, be a strong team player and enjoy working with others in
a team environment. They should demonstrate confidence assisting
students with learning and/or behavioural challenges.
Support of the School’s values is essential.
**ENVIRONMENT **This is a fixed term part time 0.57FTE position with the potential for an ongoing contract.
The hours of work are:
Monday, Thursday and Friday 8:00am - 1:00pm
Tuesday 8:00am - 2:15pm
**KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY**
- Work as part of a team to identify student learning needs
- Provide one on one tuition or work in small teams with students
- Deliver before school literacy program
- Provide education, emotional and social support for identified students
- Keep accurate records for each student
- Provide appropriate support within the classroom
- Assist to develop and deliver Individual Learning Plans
- Provide feedback to classroom teachers
- Ensure that the diversity of all children, including (but not limited to) the needs of Aboriginal
and Torres Strait Islander children, children from culturally and linguistically diverse
backgrounds, children with disabilities, and children who are vulnerable needs are met
- Other duties as directed
