**Your new role**
The Valuation and Property Officer role is a crucial position which will assist council in meeting its valuation requirements for rating, statutory and corporate purposes. Additionally, your role will include:

- Undertaking valuations for asset, insurance, rental, and other purposes
- Support the management of Council owned and managed properties including day to day work for discontinuance and sale of unused roads/laneways etc.
- Providing specialist valuation advice to management and responding to queries from members of the public
- Managing the supplementary valuation process and undertaking all report checks
- Assisting with the maintenance of Council’s property and leasing registers and systems, as well as supporting the management and administration of leased and licenced properties

**What you'll need to succeed**
To succeed in this role, you will have;
- Tertiary qualifications in Valuations and an associate membership of the Australian Property Institute including being a Certified Practicing Valuer with post-admission experience
- Knowledge and experience with rating valuations including supplementary valuations and an understanding of the Valuer General approval process
- Knowledge and understanding of asset valuations, insurance valuations and market valuation principles
- Familiarity with the principles and practices of budgeting and relevant financial procedures including the ability to undertake reconciliations in relation to revenue as part of business operations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the capability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders and personalities at all levels across Council including externally with members of the public
- The ability and willingness to function at a strategic level in addition to taking a hands-on, customer-centric approach, operating within a collaborative and customer focussed team
